Azeb’s presentation indicated that men and women have different travel patterns and women face more challenges and limitations when it comes to public transport.
In his keynote address, Prof. Karuti Kanyinga noted that there is limited coordination and harmonization of rules, policies, engagements, and networking across Africa by different institutions.
Prof. Kamau noted that IDS has partnered with UNDP for the past 25 years in not only launching the HDI report, but also developing the Kenya HDI report.
Through the combination of research and education, the CAMA project aims to change perceptions towards active mobility and transition towards more walkable and bikeable cities in sub-Saharan Africa.
