Between 19th – 21st May 2026, the Institute for Development Studies- University of Nairobi, represented by Prof Winnie Mitullah, Dr Anne Kamau, and Ms Paschalin Basil took part in the INTALInC conference themed “Addressing Transport Inequalities in Global South Cities, ” at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Basil Paschalin presented on the topic “The Role of Public Participation in the Implementation of Walking Infrastructure in Nairobi City County, Kenya”.

Leadership is not exercised in isolation; it is shaped within institutions.

The leaders shaping Africa’s future are not always the most visible.
Many are already building institutions, leading teams, and solving complex
challenges, but they are not always the first to put themselves forward for
opportunities like this.
