Workshop session

Transformative African Leadership Workshop

The Institute for Development Studies was pleased to host partners from the Transformative Leadership Programme (TAL) at the University of Nairobi Towers. TAL is a pan-African executive leadership programme shaping the next generation of leaders across the continent. In his remarks, Prof Paul Kamau, Director of Research, noted that leadership programmes such as TAL are what will transform the leadership of the continent of Africa. He welcomed the participants to the two-day workshop. Also present was Prof Maina Wagacha, the Director of the Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Office. Prof Wagacha noted that his office is committed to transforming knowledge into tangible solutions.

Dr Kenneth Ombongi, the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Studies, applauded the programme and stated that it will nurture leaders who are committed to listening. He further stated that his office will support the programme and expressed his gratitude to the donors of the programme.

The workshop sought to reconnect and reenergize around the TAL programme and align on the orientation and the five-day first residency in Nairobi in September 2026.
