Examining Black African Diasporic Wellbeing in a Cross-Cultural Context: The case of Australia
The Institute for Development Studies was pleased to host Dr Matthew Mabefam and Dr Anne Corbert at the University of Nairobi. They met the IDS Director of Research, Prof. Paul Kamau, the Chair Department of Economics and Development Studies, Prof Martin Oleche and the Chair of the Political Science Department, Dr Oscar Otele. They also made a courtesy call to the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Prof. Jack Odhiambo.
Dr Matthew Mabefam will today have an online session at 2:00-3:30 PM EAT where he will speak on the topic "Examining Black African Diasporic Wellbeing in a Cross-Cultural Context: The case of Australia."
Dr. Matthew Mabefam is a lecturer in Development Studies in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne. His research contributes to decolonising development epistemes, policies and practices, with a focus on Africa and the African Diaspora.
The discussant will be James Omolo - Human Rights Activist & Writer, Afryka Connect Foundation / Dignity Advocates
The session will be moderated by Prof. Winnie Mitullah, Research Professor of Development Studies, IDS-UoN.
