Erika Koss is a Research Associate at IDS, University of Nairobi, and a PhD candidate in International Development Studies at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Erika’s research centers on the sustainability and resilience of the global coffee trade, particularly in East Africa, and the need for climate resilience and gender justice. She holds two Master’s degrees: one in English literature from San Diego State University in California; and an M.A. in Political Science from Northeastern University in Boston, where her thesis examined the history and politics of coffee.
