The Institute for Development Studies hosts the Mercury Project Solutions Summit
The Institute for Development Studies was honoured to host the Mercury Project Solutions Summit on 3rd-4th October. The University of Nairobi was represented by the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Ayub Gitau who was representing the Vice Chancellor. Also present were Prof. Jack Odhiambo the Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Paul Kamau Director of Research at IDS, and Dr. Anne Kamau a Senior Researcher at IDS.
The highly engaging, collaborative two-day Summit showcased the latest scientific findings with practical experiences in order to develop scalable, cost-effective, and high-impact solutions worth testing across multiple places and platforms.
The summit participants sought to learn about and articulate key challenges in promoting protective health behaviours that require sustained research, pragmatic action, and further attention.
Present were distinguished public health and information practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers, from public, private, non–profit, and philanthropic sectors.
The Mercury project is working to find cost-effective and scalable interventions that support science-based health decision-making.
