IDS holds online seminar on Mobilising Aid While Constituting Ethnic Groups: The Role Of Mosques and Kinship Associations
In this paper, we argue that the debate concerning aid in Somalia has concentrated on international organizations and underplays the complexity of humanitarian support. Focusing on mosques and kinship associations in Nairobi, we ask how Somalis in Kenya coordinate and administer humanitarian support for Somalia.
IDS D-HUM project researchers to speak at DIIS roundtable event on 7 June 2023

IDS researchers who are part of the Diaspora Humanitarianism in Complex Crises (D-Hum) research project will join other speakers at the project's roundtable to be held at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) in Copenhagen on 7 June 2023. These researchers include Prof. Karuti Kanyinga, Dr. Obadia Okinda and PhD students within the project including Sahra, Abdirahman and Fatima.
