IDS D-HUM project researchers to speak at DIIS roundtable event on 7 June 2023

IDS researchers who are part of the Diaspora Humanitarianism in Complex Crises (D-Hum) research project will join other speakers at the project's roundtable to be held at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) in Copenhagen on 7 June 2023. These researchers include Prof. Karuti Kanyinga, Dr. Obadia Okinda and PhD students within the project including Sahra, Abdirahman and Fatima. 

IDS to host AMID Young Professional 25 years anniversary celebrations at the University of Nairobi Tower

The Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi (UoN) has been collaborating with Radboud University, Netherlands, since 2021 to offer a programme called AMID Young Professional.

Prof. Paul Kamau awarded AERC fellowship in Madagascar

Prof. Paul Kamau has been awarded an African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) three months fellowship at the Centre for Development Research (CRD), of the Catholic University of Madagascar based in Antananarivo. The fellowship runs from April 16 to July 2023.

IDS Afrobarometer team feted in Accra, Ghana

On 17 May 2023, the Institute for Development Studies was feted for many years of steadfast service as the Afrobarometer Core Partner for East Africa. Receiving the award on behalf of the Afrobarometer team was Prof. Paul Kamau. He appreciated this and dedicated the trophy to the able Afrobarometer team at the Institute of Development Studies led by Prof. Winnie Mitullah. 

The Carnegie Project Country Teams

The Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi is implementing a multidisciplinary and multiregional research project on critical challenges that are appearing across traditionally defined regions. The Project titled "For transregional research on decentralization, inclusive citizenship and governing elites in Africa and the Arab region"  is funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
