NAPTA, in partnership with the Institute for Development Studies of the University of Nairobi (IDS-UON) shall host the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Matatu Summit & Expo on May 23rd - 24th, 2024 at the University of Nairobi from 8am - 4pm.

The Summit shall be a two-day event bringing together stakeholders in the Matatu sector within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area to deliberate on the theme: “Building the Capacity of Public Transport Providers to Access Affordable Financing for Sustainable Public Transportation in Nairobi.”

The summit will be ENTRY FREE for public guests and will be funded through sponsorship and partnerships.

Main Objective The main objective of the Summit is to explore new financing models for the matatu sector with a view of addressing the existing financing gaps in the sector to build a foundation for sustainable public transportation in Kenya.
