Dr. George Michuki is a Research Fellow at IDS where he has been since 2009.
A development expert, George has been in involved in teaching and research at the Institute for Development Studies since 2009 covering several areas including Issues in International Development; Gender and Development; Fundamentals of Development. George has in the past worked on a project on (Socially Inclusive Cities) which was a collaborative project between universities in the UK (Leeds University), Vietman, India, Ghana and Kenya. The project handled the question of migrants and refugees among other socially excluded sub national identities. Currently George is involved in the implementation of a Danida funded project titled Diaspora Humanitarianism (D-HUM) and one of the issues being handled how the Somalia diaspora support their people back home who have been displaced by either conflict or drought. This is a collaboration with RAKO Institute in Somalia.
