African Youth Forum by AfrikParliament in Nairobi on 17-18 Dec.
Prof. Paul Kamau, our Director of Research and Wanja M. Douglas- Project Coordinator at Data for Governance Alliance - Africa represented us and Afrobarometer at the African Youth Forum by AfrikParliament in Nairobi on 17-18 Dec.
Prof Kamau noted that democratic education in Africa remains low. There are high dropout rates, low literacy levels, and persistent gender disparities in educational attainment. He however noted that E-learning has greatly contributed to the democratization of education in Africa by improving access and equity in learning.
Therefore, the AU should continue urging member states to prioritize higher education by increasing budgets and enhancing skills training.
