IDS honored to take part in Kenya & the Netherlands Transforming Analysis into Action in Water, Peace, and Climate Security conference
The Institute for Development Studies was honored to take part in Kenya & the Netherlands Transforming Analysis into Action in Water, Peace, and Climate Security conference that was held at the Enashipai Resort & Spa in Naivasha on 19th March 2025.
The event brought together civil, military, government, and academic partners from Kenya and the Netherlands to promote knowledge exchange on the link between water, climate, and security.
Amb. Dr. Monica Juma kicked off the day's deliberations by delivering an inspiring speech. Other key speeches were delivered by Gen. (Ret) Tom Middendorp and H.E. Mohamed Abdi Ware of IGAD.
The climax of the day was pitching the Institute's research work to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima during the climate carousel.
The Global Challenges (AMID) team in Kenya also presented the Global Challenges programme and highlighted the collaboration between IDS - University of Nairobi and RadboudCSW - Radboud University.
