The 2nd Stakeholders’ Convening on Governance, Democracy and Rights in Africa - Eastern Africa Region
The Data for Governance Alliance (D4GA) and its partners held a convening on Governance, Democracy, and Rights in Africa - Eastern Africa Region from 6th – 10th November 2023 at Sarova Panafric Nairobi Hotel, Nairobi.
D4GA collaborates with African civil societies and equips them with data-driven tools and knowledge to engage effectively with the African Union’s (AU) Governance Platform and national governments. The project aims to foster collaboration between the African Union’s African Governance Architecture (AGA) organs and Pan African Civil Society Organizations to advance governance, democracy and human rights throughout Africa.
The D4GA consortium led by Afrobarometer and partnering with the Institute of Justice and Reconciliation (IJR), the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), and the Institute for Development Studies (IDS), along with nine AGA organs and Pan African civil society has developed a comprehensive strategy aimed at equipping African CSOs with data and skills to advocate effectively for governance and rule of law at national and continental levels.
The project engages in data collection and analysis, offering workshops and training for policy actors and advocates and creating opportunities for CSO-AGA consultation and collaboration.
