Counselling and Mentorship

IDS has in place a mentoring program for both its PhD students and MDEV students. For PhD students, senior colleagues invite them to attend the MDEV classes. For MDEV students, especially those who are on the University of Nairobi or IDS project-related scholarship, they are involved in helping the IDS Research Seminars Committee in preparing for the IDS seminars. They are also actively involved in the project’s fieldwork and other related responsibilities.

In addition, the university has established a partnership with private hostels owners within proximity to the city to interested students.
