IDS Seminar on “Just Green Transition in Africa”
The presenter was Fadhel Kaboub, Associate Professor of Economics at Denison University, and the discussant was Seble Samuel, Head of Africa Campaigns and Advocacy at the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative. The session was moderated by Dr. Radha Upadhyaya, from IDS.

IDS seminar on “Captive or catalyst?: Value chains and (re)production networks in Kakuma refugee camp and Kalobeyei settlement”
The presentation highlighted that as of 2024 Kenya hosted 770,255 refugees and asylum seekers. 285,238 of them were in Kakuma and Kalobeyei settlements. Only 1,124 of those are resettled or repatriated.

IDS seminar on “Women’s safety and security in public transport in Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia”
Azeb’s presentation indicated that men and women have different travel patterns and women face more challenges and limitations when it comes to public transport.
