Thematic area five focuses on the issues of industrial development in Kenya, sub-Saharan African and the world. The thematic area examines the role of industrial development on political, social and economic development, evolution of industrial strategies in developing countries. Finally, the role of micro and small enterprises in the industrial development discourse is also explored.
