On 26 March 2015, Prof. Dorothy McCormick presented a paper titled “Trade, SMEs and Development in Africa” at International Trade Center (ITC) seminar in Geneva. The paper co-authored by Mr. Herbert Wamalwa is one of the background papers prepared for ITC’s forthcoming flagship publication on SME Competitiveness Outlook 2015.

In March 2015, Dr. Radha Upadhyaya attended a high level roundtable on Africa and Global Finance at the University of Oxford. The roundtable brought together African regulators and academics to critically examine the economics and political economy of new developments in African finance and their implications for regulatory design in Africa.

The SAFIC Team led by Prof. Dorothy McCormick, and including Dr. Paul Kamau, Dr. Radha Upadhyaya, Mr. Peter K’Ochupe and Mr. Herbert Wamalwa attended a research workshop in Arusha - Tanzania, hosted by the Tanzania SAFIC Team. This was an annual event to enable the entire SAFIC Team to meet, discuss their research collaboration, and present their findings to one another. The first such workshop was held in Nairobi at the start of the project in February 2012. Subsequent workshops have been in Lusaka Zambia (2013) and Copenhagen, Denmark (2014).
