The pioneer class for the Institute of Development Studies’s   Masters in Development Studies (MDEV) were welcomed to the institute during an elaborate orientation ceremony on 8th September 2016. The new programme replaces the MA in Development Studies and takes into consideration the post 2015 development thinking and issues.

Dr. Ken Ohashi presenting

On Thursday 23rd June 2016, IDS hosted Dr. Ken Ohashi who presented a paper entitled “Can Kenya Become the Next Economic Miracle?”

Dr. Ken Ohashi is a former Country Director of the World Bank of Nepal and Ethiopia. Since 2015 he has also served as Senior Economic Advisor to the Presidency of Kenya.
