The Institute for Development Studies (IDS) and Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) held an exploratory workshop for the new initiative entitled “Mobility and Access in African Cities.”

The two-day workshop,  which took place at the UN headquarters at Gigiri on 15th and 16th June 2015, drew participants from various agencies to  discuss and exchange ideas about how knowledge  can make a difference in improving accessibility and mobility in Africa’s rapidly growing urban centres.

The workshop was aimed at helping VREF in defining new MAC initiative and to make the most out of the existing opportunities to make African cities good places to live, and good for everyone. IDS was represented by Prof Dorothy McCormick and Prof Winnie Mitullah, who was also a facilitator at the forum.
