Dr Mary Kinyanjui hosted a seminar on a research which proposes to investigate the positioning of peasants, traders and artisans in the global economy. The seminar was held on Wednesday 30th March 2016 at the University of Nairobi.
According to the researcher, the peasants, traders and artisans participation in the global economy entails embracing the culture of money and self-regulating markets. “They have demonstrated agency, resilience and insurgency in response to the inculcation into the culture of money and self-regulating markets,” she observed.
The research aims at answering three questions:
1.2.3.What is the production and exchange, wellbeing and wealth outcome of peasants’ artisans’ and traders’ agency, resilience and insurgency in the positioning in the global economy?
