The University of Nairobi (UoN) and the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) will today, 28th January 2016, host a live public debate on Eurobond at Taifa Hall from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.
The Institute for Development Studies (IDS) is the lead coordinator of the event at the University while KEPSA will host the occasion through its Mkenya Daima campaign.
The debate will be televised live by major TV stations and will involve financial experts from relevant Government offices, the opposition, and the private sector. During the occasion, the Eurobond issue will be discussed extensively, including what the Eurobond is, the salient issues involved and relevant answers to these issues.
The Institute for Development Studies Associate Director Prof Karuti Kanyinga and Mkenya Daima Vice Chair Polycarp Igathe will be the moderators.
Established in 1965, IDS, is the oldest of 20 such institutes in the world. It is the premier multi-disciplinary and a multi-purpose development research institute in Eastern and Southern Africa region and carries out full time research on high priority areas of social-economic and political development in Kenya, Africa and the world in general. The Institute has increasingly influenced policy thinking and policy making.
KEPSA is the private sector apex and umbrella body set up in 2003, to bring together business community in a single voice to engage and influence public policy for an enabling business environment. The Association’s Mkenya Daima campaign project is meant to foster peaceful coexistence and peace for economic growth and prosperity for the country.
